Drambuie is a magical blend of up to 30 aged malt whiskies, a hint of honey, and a secret recipe of herbs and spices. Its unique recipe dates back more than 259 years, when it was the personal liqueur of Prince Charles Edward Stuart, better known as Bonnie Prince Charlie. Captain Jon Mackinnon, a loyal supporter, was awarded the recipe for his loyalty to the Prince after he was defeated in an attempt to overthrow the English Hanoverian dynasty in 1746. The recipe and its preparation remain a secret with the MacKinnon family to this day!
